how/why you got into the flowers
my father is a nursery man and i grew up sliding down soil heaps and playfully propagating plants. much much later i starting assisting stylists for interior magazines and grew attracted to flowers amongst interiors and spaces. i began to research the art of flower arranging and japanese ikebana. i never thought i would be working with flowers. i think it's perhaps influenced me, after being surrounded by it most of my life. when i visit my local growers at their farms, i feel very at home. it's a familiar and comfortable surrounding.

ReplyDeleteLove this interview. Bloom is the reason I went into floral design. I encountered her book and magazines about 4 years ago and felt like Alice in Wonderland. One question: what the heck is a "punnet load"?
ReplyDeleteha! it's just one of those boxes you buy berries in, usually cardboard or wood. what do you call them in the states?
ReplyDeleteoooh, love it. So great to be introduced.
